A faithful Cruising Squared reader asks:
"How about some cruising help? Traveling to Europe and visiting Italy and France. Want to bring home wine but curious about how much we can bring back or should we arrange to ship it home? Any help for those of us cruising the seas?" --D.F.
Dear D.F.: Based on our own trips aboard, Cruising Squared is a big advocate for traveling light. Ever since one of us had "HEAVY" stamped on a suitcase bound for London. Ahem. At any rate, if you do buy wine, there are purchase and duty considerations. A good source on that is travel guru Rick Steves. Here's his advice.
Once you get the wine back home, a thorough tasting is recommended. I know of at least two volunteers. Happy cruising!

Don, my opinion is to enjoy the wine while in Europe and don't bother lugging or shipping it home. See our Facebook page for my full comment on this topic. Thanks for the question and happy cruising.
ReplyDeleteThis opinion is from, Pam. Oh, about that luggage marked...HEAVY? Never mind.
