Here's news for dog lovers (that would be us) from our friends in the Florida Keys:
"The Woofstock Music Fair, a day of peace, paws and music, awaits dog lovers eager to unite to raise pet population awareness and adopt rescues to 'fur-ever' homes. The annual event is set for Saturday, March 22, at Islamorada's Founders Park, mile marker 87.
"Now in its fifth year, the free-admission festival features a variety of agility competitions, including the MaddMac Lure course race and demonstrations by Ultimate Air Dogs, one of the premier dock jumping organizations in the country.
"Sponsored by Keys Kritters, an amateur division in dock diving demos offers prizes for the winning pooch as canines compete to make the furthest jumps into a swimming pool. All breeds are welcome to join.
"Dogs up for adoption are to show off their swag and wag during the Rescue Me Mutt Strut in hopes of landing in a 'permanent doghouse.' The popular animal adoption village is to host local and breed-specific animal rescue groups.
"Festival goers can 'paws' for the cause and browse and buy products for pets and people at vendor booths. Other offerings at the far-out and fur-friendly event include live music by a full slate of local bands, food and beverages, goodie bag giveaways and Woofstock merchandise, contests and more.
"Gates are open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Leashed, friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Event proceeds benefit MarrVelous Pet Rescues & Adoptions. Event information: www.keyswoofstock.com."
