TRUNK BAY DESERVING OF HIGH RANKING

TripAdvisor's readers have selected their Top 10 Islands in their 2013 Reader's Choice survey. Trunk Bay on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands came in second. Since we were both on that beach just a few weeks ago as part of our Azamara Quest voyage, I'm not sure how the beach on Belize topped it. Part of the National Park there, its sands are indescribably white and soft, and matched with the deep aquamarine colors of the Caribbean Sea, it's a picture postcard everywhere you look. In fact, since it's Friday, let's take a little stroll on the beach ... -- Gerry

You can a nice overview from the road above ...

There is a small admission charge ($4) to use the beach ...

Pam is loving walking on the sand ...

While I try to figure out how we can never leave!

READERS SELECT '25 BEST BEACHES'

Can you name this beach? (Credit: TripAdvisor)
Who doesn't love a beautiful beach? A warm expanse of sugary sand, the sound of the surf and seagulls, the endless blue water -- not to mention those drinks with the little umbrellas       and a reclining lounge chair. We all have our favorites, and this week TripAdvisor is out with their list of the "25 Top Beaches in the World" as selected by their readers. While Florida beaches made the list, I was a little disappointed one of our favs didn't -- Trunk Bay on St. John in the Virgin Islands. That's okay, better to keep that one our little secret. Happy Friday, all! -- Gerry
