MORIKAMI CELEBRATES 'YEAR OF THE SNAKE'

On Sunday, hundreds if not thousands of people gathered at the Morikami Museum in Delray Beach to celebrate the Year of the Snake at the Oshogatsu Festival. It was our first time to visit the famed museum and Japanese gardens, and what a treasure it is for residents of South Florida with its combination of beauty and serenity. It was food, fun, music, face painting and everything you want in an outdoor festival. If you missed it, here are a few snaps:

can relax and take in the beauty around you

The bamboo forest is amazing. Stop
and listen to the sounds as they sway
in the wind.

Kind of sad there has to be signs asking visitors
not to mutilate the trees.

Signs like this one describe the various sections

The serenity garden is a place you want to linger
