REPORT LOOKS AT 2012 CRUISE TRENDS

The website CruiseCompete has released its CruiseTrends 2012 Annual Report, which tracks consumer quote requests off its website. They break down topics under three major headings: Contemporary/Premium; Luxury and River. A few highlights of note:

Most Popular Cruise Departure Ports: Florida grabbed then first three spots under "Contemporary": Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Port Canaveral.
Most Popular Countries Visited: Contemporary: The Bahamas; Luxury: Greece and River: Germany.
Most Popular Cruise Ships: Contemporary: Carnival Dream; Luxury: Queen Mary 2 and River: American Queen.
Most Popular Month to Sail: Contemporary: December; Luxury: December and River: September.

A varied and vast professional career in newspapers have been my game and still are, but my travel blogging has arrived. And about my name: It looks like "Jerry" but is pronounced "Gary." No,my parents don't know why.

Like you, we love to cruise. Our travels have taken us from Barcelona and Rome to the Panama Canal.
