WHAT'S A BEACH BBQ WITHOUT CAVIAR?

Over at Fodor's Travel Blog the topic of the day is "Top Five Cruise Ship Beach BBQs." Don't think brisket and apple cobbler. These BBQs are more about caviar and champagne. For example, author Andrea Rotondo cites what Seabourn Cruises offers: "Every Seabourn vessel hosts 'Caviar in the Surf' during warm weather cruises. The beachside BBQ often takes place on Prickly Pear Island in Virgin Gorda when in the Caribbean. Seabourn's maritime bar team sets up a surfboard in the surf that's piled high with caviar and loaded with dozens of bottles of champagne." Personally, for all things BBQ we defer to Don, the Texas grill master over at Holy Smoke!!, who could show those cruise chefs what a "meat and greet" is all about. Anyway, here's a video that shows more. -- Gerry
